Kigurumi Crisis

Hehehe, the title sounds much more dramatic than the subject matter. My friend Droog of Alex and I went to watch Up (which I'd watched with styca previously and loved) in our kigurumis. The entire night was a lot of fun, and our outfits caused cars to slow down and people to stop in their tracks to stare. However, the fact that it was a billion degrees didn't exactly make this very comfy. Whenever we got back to my house, we just did a routine check of g-market for spring material kigurumis and found something awesome. We could get two kigurumis for half of the price we paid for one before. So now I have the next kigurumi to buy narrowed down to two choices.

Pleasent surprise

It was already a nice surprise when I found out that one of my favorite artists kitmun (Kidchan on DA) was involved in the Hetalia community, and I could look forward to seeing the awesome fanart that she submitted. I admit I was a bit star-struck whenever she commented on my introduction fanfiction, which left me in a great mood for the rest of the day. When I woke up this morning, I scurried over to the Hetalia community like I have been doing for the past few days, and I was greeted by a great surprise.

community.livejournal.com/hetalia/759482.html

: D I think my heart almost exploded. I somehow managed to inspire one of my favorite artists ever. Happy days!

A Hetalia Fanfiction

I posted this in the Hetalia community, but I thought I'd put it here too. -lame-

http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia/722079.html

Title: "America, are you sparkling?"
Author/Artist: Me, Lucorinth
Character(s) or Pairing(s): US, UK
Rating: PG
Warnings: Pokes fun at famous books?
Summary: The effect of popular books on the US and UK.
AN: This is my first time writing and posting a Hetalia fanfic. I'm new to lj and Hetalia. I hope I managed to keep the characters in character. >< By the way, the sparkly vampire is a reference to S. Meyer's Twilight series. I personally don't like the books, but they are really popular here in the USA. They also seem to be pretty popular in England. The Wizard references are from J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series, another book that seems popular in both countries.

I was tired of writing deep, serious things, so I decided to try and write something light. This is the result I came up with after a half an hour. In hindsight, I probably should have taken more time. >< It's un beta'd, so sorry for any mistakes.

"America, are you sparkling?" England's voice was a mixture of incredulous, disbelieving, and stunned. America, being America, added the three together to come up with awed. He grinned widely, striking what he believed to be a heroic pose in the sunlight. "Yes. Yes I am." England opened and closed his mouth soundlessly, seemingly too awed (yes, awed was totally the word) to speak. America didn't mind, in fact it drew attention to the soft wind-chime sounds coming from his shimmering skin.

The sound knocked England out of his flabbergasted state. "Is that you?"

"Yep!"

"I wasn't aware that sparkling had a sound effect."

"Oh yes, it makes things much more dramatic."

England placed his palm against his face. After so many centuries, Arthur had expected he'd at least begin to understand the way Alfred's logic ran... Apparently it wasn't something you could just get used to. "And why," he hazarded to ask, "are you sparkling?"

"Oh, it's the biggest fad over here. Books about shiny vampires." America said, shifting from side to side to catch as many rays of sunlight possible.

"Shiny what?" England said, large eyebrows furrowing.

"Vampires. You know, they're blood-suckers, super fast, super strong, they glisten in the sun..."

"Wait, everyone knows a self-respecting vampire bursts into flames in the sunlight."

"Oh Arthur, that's so 1930's. You're always so behind the times..."

"How is a sparkling vampire frightening?" England asked, frowning.

"Well, it's not really. It's more about being perfect than being scary." America pointed to himself brightly. "Matches me rather well, don't you think? Super strong, super awesome..." His eyes widened. "I bet I was the base of the writer's characters." He said smugly. "She certainly loves her nation."

England rolled his eyes. "The books sound like absolute rubbish." He said, crossing his arms.

America frowned, narrowing his eyes to peer closely at the other country. "Is that so?" He muttered. "You know, I notice you've gone a bit sparkly around the edges. I've heard the books are popular overseas too."

Arthur glared suspiciously down at his own skin. To his chagrin, there was a slight gleam that he hadn't noticed before.

"So, your bloody literary virus is infecting my shores. That's nothing to be proud of." He snapped.

America crossed his arms. "I seem to recall a time where you introduced my people to a magical school of witchcraft and wizardry." He said.

"You wore the pointy hat out of your own free will!" England retorted.

"I could barely move without being bogged down by stripped scarfs and round glasses!"

"Which you wore every time a sequel came out!"

The bickering between the two continued for a while, until America froze abruptly.

"Y'know, I think I'd actually like this vampire craze to blow over..." He muttered, taking a couple hasty steps away from England.

"Hmm? Why? Because the writing is dreadful, and the idea is laughable?" Arthur asked.

"No, you're just suddenly starting to smell really nice..."
